Beginner options for parents with kids

Kids love climbing, and we love kids! Stop telling them to get down and start telling them to climb up! Watch them build trust, strength, coordination, and confidence in a safe supportive environment. Whether our staff take the reigns, or show you how, we’re sure they’ll have a blast!

Parent and Child Intro Class

For a parent with kids who love to climb and will want to come back. You’ll learn the basics and gain independence to use the facility on future visits. You control the ropes, we’ll teach you how!

It starts with A 30 minute class that teaches basic rope skills to the parent and is followed by an hour of coaching and support from our experienced Instructors. After this first visit/class you are able to visit the facility any time we’re open, and without a need to pre-book. Bring the kids back as many times as you wish during the 2 week membership. You get great value, and they’ll build confidence quickly!

Trial Climb

Not sure you want to take a lesson? Kids too energetic to handle on your own? Want to climb with your kids? This is a perfect option!

One hour climb for up to 3 participants including an experienced instructor to take care of safety. Climb with your kids and discover just how easy it is to fit in some exercise, and get the kids engaged at the same time. You’ll warm up on beginner climbs and have a chance to try a number a different, or more challenging climbs as the session progresses.

Youth Climbing Program

Your kids not into team sports? Are they climbing everything in sight? Perhaps they need a coach!

  • Climb 1 to 3 times a week
  • Experienced coaches at a 1:4 ratio
  • Ages 6 to 18 are welcome
  • A fun, engaging sport that builds strength and confidence

Our Youth Program runs through the school year for youth ages 6-18, and year round for the Newfoundland Junior Climbing Team. Our curriculum is designed in accordance with Sport Canada’s Sport For Life (S4L) and Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) programs. We focus on building physical literacy through movement based activities in a fun and safe environment.
