Flatrock Weather

October 22nd 2011 at 8:30am

Showers are over and the sun is trying to come out. Avoid Blood bath/UV as we'll be guiding a large group there.

Calm sea with wind gusts from the NW. Low tide is at 10am so the long routes at the end of mainface are accesible then.

Should be a great day!! but bring gloves, hat and puffy!

Temperature: 13 degrees in the shade.

Thomasina Pidgeon in action!

Check this one out that Dave found:

GriGri2 Recall

Petzl has issued a recall for the GriGri2.

"Petzl has discovered that exerting excessive force on the fully extended handle of the GRIGRI 2 can cause internal damage, such that the GRIGRI 2 handle may become stuck in the open position"

A GriGri2 damaged this way will function as a tube-style device, and will NOT auto-lock

From the Petzl site:

Tropical, Marine environment bolt warning!!

I just found this on the Petzl site. Worth a read for sure.

I'm praying to the ice gods that I can unleash my new BD gloves and pound some ice sooner rather than later....

Gri Gri 2

Check out the new Gri Gri 2. I've been talking to the distributer and they're saying March 2011. Apparently the lowering mechanism is better. So, after I get my hands on one and test it on our gym ropes (I assume they 'll be awesome) I'll order a load to replace ours. That also means that if you want a cheap Gri Gri we'll be selling about 20 of them for $25 bucks a pop.
